Gueydan Duck and Goose Calling Contest

The Gueydan Duck Festival Annual Duck and Goose Calling contest will be held this year on Sunday, August 29, 2010 at the Gueydan Civic Center. This contest usually draws some of the best callers in the Acadiana area. Both young and old always have a great time.

The contest is divided into 3 categories. Blue & Snow goose, Speckled Belly, and Duck. There will be two divisions:  Senior Division -- 17-years and older, and Junior Division -- 16-years and younger. There is an entry fee. The winners will be determined by a panel of three experienced judges. 

Registration begins at 7:30 AM and ends at at 9:30 AM, to be able to draw numbers for calling order. Don't be late. The Duck Calling Contest begins at 10:00 AM. And the Goose Calling will start at 1:00 pm

Jackets will be awarded to the first place winners in all 3 categories. Plaques will also be awarded to 1st, 2nd, & 3rd Place winners. All contestants will also be eligible to enter their names into a drawing for two shotguns, and other various prizes to be given away.
