Gueydan Duck Festival Annual Auction

May 17th - 2008

The first Gueydan Duck Festival Auction was originally held at the old grounds over 10 years ago.  For the last several years at the old grounds and the first 2 years at the new grounds, we would have a short auction after the parade and before band would start and at times the auction was held between band breaks.

After the move to the new site, we soon realized that the auction could no longer be held in the Pavilion at the time of the Festival for several reasons including the noise, and impatience of the crowd.  At that time, we planned on having a separate auction at a different time however with so many irons in the fire and being served things by Mother Nature, we were never able to get it started.

In December 2006, we held our first stand alone Duck Festival Auction.  The proceeds of the Auction are to benefit our expansion program including helping fund our recent 10 acre land purchase and to assist us in the future construction of our own Activity Center on the new grounds.

Items you can expect to purchase at the Auction include carved wooden decoys, deer stands, framed prints, ice chests, memorabilia and just about anything you can imagine.

The public is invited and a free dinner is served.  If you or your company would like to donate an item to the Auction, please email the site or phone 337-536-6780.

We remind you that the Gueydan Duck Festival Association is a Certified C-3 non profit organization.  Your donations are tax deductible.
