The Gueydan Duck Festival hopes to continue its yearly tribute to the rich hunting heritage of the Acadiana area by showcasing the talents of area sportsmen with the Skeet Shoot Competition. This event is a huge crowd pleaser and provides exciting festival fun for spectators and participants both. The qualifying rounds of the Skeet Shoot Competition will be at the Duck Festival Park in Gueydan from Friday, August 27, 2010 through Sunday morning, August 29, 2010 according to event chairman Ashley Smith and Blaine Hebert. The finals will take place on Sunday at 2:00pm (Also see the schedule for times.) The Competition will have three categories: Men, Women, and Youth with prizes being given to first, second and third in each category. For more information, please contact Ashley Smith at (337)884-5796 or Email - skeetshoot@duckfestival.org The Competition gives each contestant a chance to show the skills and ability that can be developed by hunting and sport shooting. As a special prize this year we will be awarding a new shotgun to each champion in the Men, Women, and Youth categories. |
